Edamame beans were first introduced from Japan. They have gained popularity in the United States and elsewhere in the world since then , as a tasty snack and in many different cooking methods. If you’ve never tried it before, or are curious, edamame is black-eyed peas, which are black beans smaller than the others that are ground and incorporated into a powder.

These beans are then soaked in salty water and then cooked after they’ve been ground. Japanese people would then make a flavorful soybean soup from the beans.
