Green soybeans are among the most delicious food items you’ve ever had the pleasure of trying. Edamame which translates to “black beans” in Japanese, are the small black beans that are commonly used in many sake recipes. There are many other varieties of soybeans that are available but these are the most well-known.

Edamame beans were first introduced from Japan. They have gained popularity in the United States and elsewhere in the world since then , as a tasty snack and in many different cooking methods. If you’ve never tried it before, or are curious, edamame is black-eyed peas, which are black beans smaller than the others that are ground and incorporated into a powder.

These beans are then soaked in salty water and then cooked after they’ve been ground. Japanese people would then make a flavorful soybean soup from the beans.
